First Crush 8.27.07

Crush_019It's on! Estate grown Pinot Grigio came in first, followed by Fox Creek Orange Muscat. Here's how crush works: grapes arrive in macrobins and one at a time each bin is Crush_014_4 emptied into the crusher (picture one). The crusher sends the stems out one end (picture two) and sends the pulp and skins either to the Crush_022_2 press, or to another macrobin for fermentation (picture three). Orange Muscat is viscous so we let it relax in macrobins for a day before sending it to the press.

Run To Feed The Hungry (RTFTH) Team 72

PamTHANK YOU Pam, Co-Captain of  Team Cooper for the 2007 Run To Feed The Hungry  for making TEAM 72 happen! Pam likes to run the RTFTH while her Co-Captain prefers to sip on a mocha, visit with friends, and enjoy the bands at a leisurely pace. The end result however, is the same: we've both gotten some exercise and we've both supported the Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services. SFBFS assists families in need, then works to move them toward self sufficiency and financial independence.  To register for the race, visit www.sfbs.org and click on the Link to the Race website. Next, click on the REGISTRATION link and proceed to register online. It is important that you enter TEAM 72, or use the look-up menu to select our team. Complete your registration and we'll see you Thanksgiving morning!

TEAM COOPER

Rtfth Every year on Thanksgiving morning, thousands of people begin their day walking, running, skipping and jogging through the streets of East Sacramento for the annual Sacramento Food Bank's Run To Feed The Hungry. This year, we're putting together Team Cooper and inviting family, friends, club members and their family and friends to join us. Benefits of joining team Cooper include VIP parking, a team picture, a special Cooper Vineyards logo on your race shirt, and the opportunity to meet people that you already have something in common with: wine! More details will follow - in the meantime check out http://www.sfbs.org/runtofeedpg.htm for more information. Gobble Gobble!
